Before and After Pictures of Exfoliative Cheilitis Healed
This is a before and after of my chelitis. This was very hard for me to post. I still feel insecure about posting it, but I want to encourage those who are on their healing journey not to give up. No negative comments, please.
After 8-9 months.
If the after pic looks a little red to you, it is because I put on a pink chapstick before this pic. But it is clear the difference shows how much my lips healed. If you have any questions leave comments below.

Hi. I used a natural toothpaste called Tom's during my healing. I used lanolin religiously. I am going to post about something I have been working on to help with EC sufferers
I am so glad I found this page. I have been suffering from chellitis for two years now. I am an international student and arrived in the US two years ago when I caught it for the second time. I caught it the first time in India and antibiotics helped. The second the in USA, the same antibiotics didn't help and neither did clotrimazole. I used tacrolimus as a well, which did not help. I, because of my own fault, used a steroid every night for at least 5-6 months. I really regret it. I'm not sure if my lips thinned as a result but my lips haven't improved as such since. I usually drink water from a straw but now realized that getting even a little of water in touch with the lips causes mine to dry out and look greyish white and discolored. I would apply a moisturizing cream in the day and tacrolimus at night after discontinuing the steroid, but there was very little difference in my lips and it continued to be discolored and Dry. I still found it hard to smile and stretch my lips in general. After that I was at home for 3 months looking for jobs when I decided that I'll let my lips be and let it heal itself, without the mositurizer and tacrolimus. Just got worse! I use the moisturizer now again after a three month break, once a day. I am glad I came across this post and I am gonna follow the routine you did. I hope it works! Fingers crossed. I was always comoliented for my full lips and drank tons of water to ensure they stayed that way..did not expect this to happen ever.
Question, did you have some kind of discoloration from chellitis which stayed even after you healed? Or did the discoloration go away and your lip go back to your original color prior to EC?
Hi Mia I started 2 use the lanolin on my lips and stright away the burning went away and over a couple months they were getting better and better. I was even getting my lines back so i wasn't healed just yet. But in the past couple of weeks they got bad again swollen and red. I didn't change anything in my routine and I am really upset that I am back again 2 this stage. So I was wondering did something like this happen 2 u and should I keep using lanolin ?? Thanks.
Hi Mia, I am so happy to find your blog. I have been using lanolin for 2 weeks now. My Lips don't peel but there is still inflammation and there is no lines on my lips. Your lips must have stopped peeling after a while, when did you see natural lines returning on your lips. Also what do you use daily after you were cured? Do you use lanolin even after you were cured?

About 4weeks ago I got a lime juice burn on my lips and since then my lips have bn raw and peeling, no healing and I've been to the doctor Who prescribed antibiotics but I have no idea what that did... I've spent many hours on the internet looking for answers and that's how I stumbled on your blog and how I got to know what I'm experiencing is EC...I just want to know if it's ok to follow with using lanolin as well. I just want your advice in general.

Dr OYAMA has really made me so much believe in him by getting me cured of Herpes with his herbal medicine.
